Rotonda West Aquatics Committee Receives Certificate of Appreciation

We recently recognized the Rotonda West Aquatic Canal System Committee for their efforts in preserving, conserving and restoring The Real Florida, as it is stated on our Certificate of Appreciation award. I attended their monthly meeting on March 24th and presented the award to Hank Killion, the committee chair and Bob Winter, an active member of the committee.
Not All Firebushes Are Native
I was led astray again. When I first moved to Florida I had a local nursery draw up a landscaping plan for my yard. Trying to be ecologically responsible, I asked for the plan to include only Florida native plants. I followed the plan, purchased and planted per its directions, and found out later that most of the plants were non-natives. I felt betrayed.
Lazy Daze Pepper Busters Given Award
In January, the Mangrove Chapter presented the Lazy Daze Pepper Busters, a volunteer group in the Tangerine Woods subdivision, with a Certificate of Public Support for their efforts in preserving, conserving and restoring the Real Florida.
