Volunteer Opportunities
There are always things going on concerning native plants in which you can get involved, especially if you like to get your hands dirty! These opportunities are for members and the public, unless otherwise noted.
Plant Native Day on February 27, 2010: Save the Date and Volunteer! (members only)
Written by Lois Cantwell
At the last chapter meeting Bobbi Rogers, Chapter President, asked for someone to chair our Plant Native event. It took me a couple days to decide to volunteer, so here I am asking for help from ya'll to coordinate the effort. We will need to decide on a theme, line up some speakers, work on things like publicity, refreshments, plant sales, printed materials, all the usual things we do for this event. Anyone with experience in these areas, ideas to contribute, or the time and ability to undertake any of these tasks, let me know: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Cedar Point Garden Work-Party
Monday mornings from 9-11 AM at Cedar Point Environmental Park
If you enjoy gardening, nurturing plants, love butterflies, and have a couple hours a week to spare, please join our garden work-party. This is also an educational opportunity to learn about native plants, especially those that attract butterflies as larval host or nectar sources.
Cedar Point Environmental Park is a Charlotte County Park located at 2300 Placida Road in Englewood. Volunteers and educational programs are conducted by the Charlotte Harbor Environmental Center.
